Whether you are a commercial farmer, market gardener, or backyard homesteader, you are the most important part of our market. All products are sold as is — not added-value — meaning you cannot prepare or alter them in any way that is different from how they were harvested. This category includes cut flowers, produce, honey, frozen meat, and eggs. If you want to change or add to the food, you fall under the Food Artisan category instead.

The Home Consumption and Homemade Food Act was passed in 2018 by the State of Utah. It allows home-based producers to sell food to the public without a license or a commercial or inspected kitchen. It is important that you understand this law and what is required. You may not sell any food deemed a potentially hazardous food at the market, so read carefully, and your labeling must comply with the law. As a complement, the MicroEnterprise Home Kitchen Act was passed in 2021, expanding what you may sell straight to the consumer, with permit and inspection requirements. Many farmers markets do not allow these booths — we welcome them, as long as you follow every pertinent rule and law. If you are not sure whether your product qualifies, please ask.

You will be required to obtain the permits and licenses required by the health department and the state, have them available at your booth for inspection, and upload them to your Market Spread account.

If you are a licensed Cottage Food Establishment you are welcome as a vendor at our market. You will be required to provide documentation of your business license and permits.

Youth vendors are anyone 17 years of age and under at the start of the market season. The same laws that apply to other vendors apply to youth, no matter your age. You will not be charged for a booth if you are a farmer, just like all the other farmers. Other categories are $10 a day, or $145 for the season.

Vendors with non-food products or services they make or perform themselves are welcome at the market. We reserve the right to decide whether your product fits our market. Past vendors include face painters, authors, home decor crafters, t-shirt designers, embroiderers, jewelers, leatherworkers, woodworkers, and soap makers. We are not taking any new 3D print, permanent jewelry, or crochet vendors this year, except for those returning from last year.

Do you or those you teach have a talent to share? Entertainment really adds to our market and is a great way to advertise your group or class. We welcome musicians, dancers, and balloonists, along with anyone who would like to share knowledge in areas related to health, exercise, nutrition, cooking, canning, gardening, farming, or the environment.

Non-profit organizations are welcome to come during the season to have a booth at the market and promote their organization. The rules for selling items at the market apply to non-profits, and they are required to obtain permits or licenses as other vendors are. Proof of non-profit status is required. If you would like to attend more often, apply under another category and come as often as you like.

Setting up

Things you will all need to know

01
Provide your own booth structures — tables, chairs, awning. You are required to have at least a 25 lb weight secured to each corner of your awning. We get a lot of wind in Eagle Mountain.
02
We do not provide electricity, so if you need it you will have to supply it. Generators are allowed as long as they are not too noisy — please let us know in advance if you plan to run one.
03
You will not be able to park right by your booth. Unload near the path, then move your vehicle to the designated parking lot. Plan on a wagon or dolly.
04
You are required to pack out everything you take in. We are not going to clean up after you.
05
Fill out your attendance dates in Market Spread. We assign booths and send invoices from that calendar each week.
